Yaacov Kaufman presents in this exhibition a collection of tall narrow bookshelves based on identical schema, however each one has its own variation, same as Jazz has standard base and each musician improvises on that standard.

The tall bookshelves look like towers that rise above the other "low buildings" being the other furniture in the room.

"Some time ago when I visited my childhood neighborhood, which use to be a temporary settlement (Maabara) with one story high buildings, I saw that new residential towers have replaced the ones I knew and remembered. In the 90's, I had an exhibition at Ami Steinitz Gallery (Ami Steinitz Contemporary Art Gallery, Tel-Aviv 1997), making tribute to these old tipped roof temporary houses. Twenty years later, this exhibition is some kind of a follow up tribute to my old neighborhood, reflecting on the time that passed by."

The standard is comprised of a threaded rod dressed with a support pole, a shelf and then another pole. The improvisation is made by using different number of poles, different pole materials and shapes as well as different shelf's' shapes. Some of them have a "balcony".
